What makes experienced professionals choose a newly started company?
For Jarle and Kent the answer was simple: the chance to help build something from the ground up. It became a natural choice to join the journey at Enfy — not only as employees, but as part of a small team that is building the company further together.
That is what gives me energy and joy at work
For Jarle, head of sales at Enfy, the choice to join was about more than a new role. After several years as self-employed, and with founder experience behind him, he missed the feeling of creating something together with others.
«I missed the community and being part of developing something from the start. That is what gives me energy and joy at work,» says Jarle.
At Enfy he got the chance to do exactly that. Here he has helped establish the sales work from scratch and shape both the message and the direction along the way.
«Building block by block and seeing things take shape is what I find most fun of all.»
The product was immature, but the potential was large
Frode and Bjørn-Tore knew Kent from school, and knew well who they wanted with them when Enfy took shape. The path into the company started with a text message — sent while Kent was on holiday.
«I got a message that they had started something new, and I became curious. When I got a proper presentation, I saw that the product was immature, but also that the potential was large,» Kent explains.
For him it was decisive that the framework around the company was solid. That Notodden Energi was on the ownership side, and that everything was in order, meant a lot.
«That gave me extra security. After 18 years in the same company you think carefully, and although competitive terms were important, it was first and foremost the professional side and the chance to help build something from scratch that triggered me.»
Today Kent is senior software architect at Enfy, where he designs and implements the company’s software solutions.
«A lot of the fun is seeing that what I make actually works in practice. Building a system from the ground up and working with forward-looking technology is incredibly rewarding,» he says.
A high pace — and solutions that actually work
Both Jarle and Kent highlight the pace and development as some of the most motivating parts of the working day.
«New systems and solutions are being developed all the time, and we constantly have to learn. I thrive very well with things moving a bit fast,» says Jarle.
The high pace means that technology, working methods and solutions are constantly evolving — which requires collaboration, curiosity and the ability to adapt quickly.
Large customers — and large ambitions
Even though Enfy is still a relatively small company, we already work with large and significant customers.
«We operate with large players, and the potential is enormous. Among other things we have signed a contract with Norway’s largest solar park in Vikersund, where Enfy’s EMS controls the solar park and battery, and Lundeby AS will install Norway’s largest battery solutions delivered to a business, together with a large solar plant that produces 1,500,000 kWh. I am very proud of that,» says Jarle.
The ambitions do not stop there.
«In 2026 we have budgeted to double revenue. I believe and hope we will go further than that. I experience that Enfy is very far ahead technically, and that we are leading in what we do — even though we are still small.»
Kent shares the same picture of the future:
«I hope we are better established in the reserve markets, have more projects in operation and a larger portfolio to show. That will also create even more sales going forward.»
A culture marked by freedom, collaboration and down-to-earth people
When they describe the culture at Enfy, both Jarle and Kent are clear.
«It is a pleasant and informal environment, with a lot of flexibility. The leaders have a technical background and understand the problems we work with, and I have a lot of freedom when it comes to developer tools, equipment and workplace. I can in practice work from anywhere, but I enjoy the fine premises at Notodden Energi,» says Kent.
Jarle highlights the people:
«Nobody is full of themselves, even with fine titles. We use each other, collaborate closely and complement each other.»
And this, they believe, is something many underestimate about working in a smaller company.
«You get to help shape your own workplace. The freedom and influence are much greater than many think,» says Jarle.
Now Enfy is looking for more people who want to help build further
We at Enfy are now ready for the next growth phase and are looking for more people who want to build further with us. We are seeking both a Technical Project Manager and Sales & Business Development.
«We are looking for people who can communicate well, take responsibility and follow projects from start to finish. With us you get to help build, not only administer,» says Jarle.
Kent agrees:
«If you like responsibility, development and forward-looking solutions, I think Enfy can be a very exciting place to work.»
