Depot charging and batteries for logistics

Transport and logistics get heavy-duty chargers, batteries and EMS as one plant, so depot charging stays within the grid connection.

Depot charging for trucks often stops at the grid connection. Enfy puts heavy-duty chargers, batteries and EMS in one plant, as at Eek Logistikk.

What comes first

  1. 1. Charging on today's grid connection

The battery supplies local charging power within the agreed grid connection. It does not increase your connection right. Depot charging for heavy vehicles is controlled so simultaneous load stays under the limit agreed with the grid company.

  2. 2. Enova as part of the project

Enova's Bedriftslading for tunge kjøretøy scheme can provide up to NOK 3 million per project and up to 60% of approved costs, where the project qualifies. Awards are made through competitive bidding. The Eek project has been granted NOK 3 million, the cap in the charging scheme. Figures are project-specific.

  3. 3. One plant, including existing solar

Chargers, batteries and EMS are delivered as one system. Existing solar can be included once the inverter, metering and communications are settled. At Eek Logistikk the plant includes 840 kW heavy-duty chargers with five charging guns, a 1 MW / 2 MWh battery and existing solar. Enfy EMS will control the plant.

Truck depot charging stops at the grid connection

When the fleet electrifies, the grid connection decides whether the trucks can finish charging before departure. Depot charging for heavy vehicles needs high simultaneous power, often overnight or during loading. A battery can supply that power locally. It does not increase your connection right.

One plant, not chargers first and batteries later

Chargers alone, a battery alone or an Enova application without controls rarely delivers a plant that stays within the connection. Enfy owns the interface: survey, engineering, installation and EMS in one contract. At Eek Logistikk, chargers, batteries and existing solar go in the same plant.

Enova at the depot, not on the public highway

Enova's Bedriftslading for tunge kjøretøy scheme supports chargers where heavy vehicles stand for a long time: at the depot, during loading, or overnight. Support is up to NOK 3 million per project and up to 60% of approved costs, where the project qualifies. Awards are made through competitive bidding. Truck purchase and public en-route charging along the trunk road sit in other schemes. We help with the application. Support is not guaranteed.

Controls that keep charging inside the limit

Enfy EMS controls charging, batteries and solar automatically. Peak shaving keeps simultaneous load under the agreed limit. Charging need before departure has higher priority than price control. The plant is prepared for Statnett's balancing and reserve markets. Revenue depends on qualification, prices, accepted bids and costs. We do not promise market revenue at Eek or any other depot.

What you get

  • Heavy-duty chargers, batteries and EMS in one delivery
  • Depot charging within the agreed grid connection
  • Peak shaving of simultaneous load
  • Enova advisory where the project qualifies
  • Existing solar can be part of the plant

Questions before choosing a system

Can we charge heavy trucks without increasing the grid connection?
Yes, if the battery is sized for both power and duration, and there is a recharge window between sessions. The battery supplies local power within the agreed grid connection. It does not increase your connection right. The internal installation, transformer and coincidence of load must be settled in engineering.
What does Enova cover for depot charging, and what does it not cover?
Enova's Bedriftslading for tunge kjøretøy scheme can support chargers at the depot, during loading, or where the vehicle stands overnight. Every charging point in the application must be above 50 kW. Support is up to NOK 3 million per project and up to 60% of approved costs, where the project qualifies. Awards are made through competitive bidding. A battery may be included when it is necessary for the charging station and controlled in the same system, under Enova's terms. The scheme does not cover truck purchase. That sits in Tunge nullutslippskjøretøy: up to NOK 5 million per vehicle and up to 60% of the extra cost versus diesel, for vehicles over 4,250 kg. Public en-route charging along the trunk road is a separate scheme. Enfy helps with the application. Support is not guaranteed.
Can existing solar be included?
Yes. Existing solar can be included once the inverter, connection, metering and communications are settled. At Eek Logistikk, existing solar is part of the same plant as the chargers, battery and EMS.
